Responsible Renting

Responsible Renting

Hope for the Inner City helps low-income people learn what it takes to be a model tenant.

  • A Second Chance: For people like “James” who are chronically homeless, a home is hard to come by. Most rental units are out of reach with no job or no credit. So is public housing without knowing where to turn for help. And homeownership is unthinkable.

  • Affordable Rents: Hope’s multiple-unit apartment offers “James” a permanent, affordable place to rent while getting back on his feet and proving himself to be a responsible renter.

  • Lifestyle Counseling: “James” and other tenants are enrolled in financial counseling, literacy classes, career development coaching, and social activities, all overseen by an onsite apartment manager.
