Moving People from Dependency to Self-Sufficiency
Our economic development programs are designed to foster lifestyle change. We help people move from crisis and dependency to self-sufficiency and interdependence, and we do so by tapping the many God-given assets hidden in our community.
- Adult Literacy: Those who never finished high school can earn diplomas, a common requirement for many decent-paying jobs.
- Civic Participation: Inner-city residents learn to have an active voice in neighborhood associations, block parties and public forums.
- Housing: We help clients to become reliable renters and first-time homeowners, and we boost low-income neighborhoods with new construction and home repairs.
- Jobs for Life: Adults are trained in the Christian work ethic, paired with a mentor, and shepherded during the job search.
- Youth Leadership: Teens receive biblical instruction on working responsibly.
