Recognizing that the challenges of poverty are often deep and intertwined, Hope takes a balanced, Christ-centered approach to inner-city ministry.

We start with mercy ministry, or emergency relief. We meet the poor’s immediate physical needs, which includes helping them to find housing, food and medical aid.

At the same time, we encourage economic development, or lifestyle change from dependency to self-sufficiency. We address the poor’s long-term social development, which includes financial literacy, career coaching and homeownership counseling.

By meeting the poor’s immediate needs while also addressing their long-term development, we envision Chattanooga's inner city transformed by the life and love of Jesus Christ.
